Hello, I live in Eugene/ junction city area, what age would you put baby chicks out side in a coop? My last 2 sets I put out side around 12 weeks. The chicks I have now are 5 weeks old. But I’m wondering what everyone else does around the area. Lol let’s be honest they don’t smell like roses :p:lau
I brood in the coop from day one (have a panel I put up to separate an area from the big girls).....they are off heat and integrating with the flock by 4 weeks.
Previously, when i brooded indoors, I transitioned chicks out, without heat, between 4 &5 weeks.

I put mine out at 6 weeks and I live in Central Oregon.

Swap in Kalama, WA tomorrow for anyone in the area looking for some birds.......10 miles away for me as the crow flies, 33 mile drive, the joys of living in a town with no river crossings

Put away the brooder panel......the last batch of babies for this year are 4 1/2 weeks old and fully integrated into the flock.....already thinking of next year and all ths chicks I "need", lol
