Good morning Mr. Everett... on thee note of non standard colors, my Blue Red Cubalaya pullet took BB against my BB Red birds. If a judge doesnt know anything they should at least pull out the standard and try to learn instead of blowing through them.
Walt can correct me if I'm wrong and I have been wrong once or twice. I thought that the rules state that a non-standard variety can only get BV. I know they can't be champion of a class.

Correct. The highest a non standard bird can go is BV. A judge is supposed to have the current edition of the SOP with them when they judge and they should look up anything they are not sure of, but not all judges believe there might be something they may not know. 400 pages of info is pretty hard for most people to retain.
Forgot to mention, I'm trying to contact a lady here in NC who is selling a gamecock of hers. A professional Thai breeder believes that it is some sort of Burmese gamefowl cross. Silver duckwing in color. Only $40!
It would be a great bird for me to start with, especially if I can get a female to go with him. Xyooj Aviaries here in NC occasionally offers some of their 100% pureblooded Thais for sale, so maybe I can get a hen for him. Wouldn't be pure Thai or pure Burmese, but a great starter project, to be sure.
