I believe CUDA has some Thai gamefowl. Read that his birds are wonderful with his kids. They follow the kids around like dogs and are really tolerant to handling.

If I'm not mistaken, all Oriental gamefowl are good with people and kids (that is, all purebred Oriental gamefowl). However, I could be mistaken.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. My son loves his chickens and some of them let him pick them up.
He's gentle with the chickens but needs a more gentle/calm good size bird. One that he can call his own.

Be carefull about your son handling fowl of any kind. They are attracted to shiney objects and will peck at eyeballs........Pop

How are the bantam shamos by the way ?
Do you still have them ?

I cut back to 2 trios & they are laying up a storm

Only kept black and wheatons. Still playing around with the barred shamo bantams but not as much.

Most any QUALITY oriental will be low strung with people, and easy to handle. The only time you need to watch them is during breeding season, and you mess with their hens when in a brood pen, like any other gamefowl.

Thanks, but I dont see him going anywhere. I got out of those bantam shamo s a while back. Didnt want to, buyout at present time I have limited space. Not planning on staying here where I am for much longer, and dont want to build a lot OG big nice pens and then have to haul then when I move.
