Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Pics
He looks like he is gonna turn out gorgeous!
He really is, I'm going to share a few more of him and Marquis...I think his color is even better.

How do you put a post from one thread and put it on another?
IF you look at the right hand corner of this post you will see a sign with 3 connected circles, click on it, then click on the double paper icon next to the address and you can then paste it where you want it! :)

I decided to post a picture of my other FBCM Rooster...his colors are even nicer. His tail feathers aren't as long yet, but I hope that they will get there, because he's going to be stunning. Also a picture of the two together!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to start turning the earth in my chicken pen, instead of raking and shoveling out the mess, they have loved scratching around in it! I figured out that the dirt was extremely hard packed on top in most of the pen area and I didn't see the chickens dust bathing as much as they probably should be! It was a very good decision...today I was rewarded with them not just scratching around in the freshly turned earth, but cleaning up their act too! It's also a good workout for me! 💪 My muscles aren't quite that big, almost...lol!

You can see the dirt flying as one of my Marans hens is really getting into it! :)

They sure were enjoying that softer dirt :D
They really are, this is the first time I've seen them go after it so much. I was asking myself, why didn't I do this sooner, then I realized that we had too many other projects going on! There are still some large, hard clumps in there that need to be broken up, I've done some with the shovel, but what I needed is a small rototiller (our garden tiller is too big) and my son just gave us one this last weekend while we were visiting...ask and you shall receive! Once we are able to let the chickens into the free range pen, I will till it up! We are working on the gate right now, so it's getting close! Pictures to come!!! :)

After all of the work we've done, we finally get to see our flock enjoy their new space!!!

First ones out!

Having a little fun and spreading their wings! My battery ran down and I missed a huge flight from the far end, back to where I was standing!
