Our Mixed Flock Journey!

We are having some crazy hot weather here! I have the fan on in the chicken coop & I'm running the treeline in their pen every day. The water makes it much cooler, I just hope it's enough.

That is very dangerous heat. I know you will keep a good watch on them. Does it get like this every summer?

May was drought, and just in the last week now, we got some heavy rain. Definitely welcome the rain,,, but some areas are getting way too much.
Last Sunday tornado's ripped and damaged a path of about 15 miles. and a second one somewhat shorter. It was not total destruction on that path, but many homes did get the heavy hit. Miraculously,,,,,, there were no fatalities, and minimal injuries❤️,,,, That is a great thing, since buildings can get rebuilt.
Those paths were 15 and 30 miles away from me,,,,,, but only 9 miles away from DD#2 home.
The weather service does a FANTASTIC JOB, of warning people to seek shelter and alarms were heard. Most-likely a reason for not many injuries.:hugs

Today was another tornado incident, but further south than last week. I don't know extent of damages until tomorrows' news.
As soon as we heard the warning sirens, we turned on the TV and there was nonstop weather reporting.
Flash flooding was also happening, but not in our immediate area.
I left Detroit, my daughter's, just ahead of the storms there. They have been having flooding ever since including the major highways where people had to abandon their cars.

The weather everywhere is just nuts right now.

And no, before you ask, it is not snowing in NJ.
Mid-90s and humid. I cannot complain with all you folk suffering triple digit heat.
🥵

Wow, that is just to close for comfort! I'm so thankful that you and your family were safe from it. I hope the extreme weather settles down soon! :hugs

No, this is a little more extreme. We can have days of 110, but I don't remember anything over 115. It's some kind of weather dome! It will pass and our temps will go back to average. So far they are all doing okay, being able to run the water during the hottest hours really helps.
