The Parsons Nose is the bit of the chicken at the tail where the preen gland is and where the tail feathers sprout from. The rounded bit that sticks up from the butt once you've plucked the bird.

It's also called the Pope's Nose as well.

In technical terms it's called a pygostyle and I think it's the bird equivalent of our coccyx.

I have a vermicomposting bin and have been feeding my chicks worms since they were 2 weeks old, they love them. They also love any dairy product and stale rice cakes, old rice... lots of stuff so far...

I have a Blue Andelusian who will trample the rest of the flock to death for an ant of any kind. So if you have extra ants you may want to add a BA to your flock. Our BA is the frendliest chicken, he will sit on your shoulder and eat the dear flies as they try to circle!!
