Does this look comb look pale and dry? I’m a newbie and my buff’s comb seems awfully pale to me. She is apprx 17 weeks. She was a solo that I added to an existing flock of 3 (have had her since she was 5 weeks or so) and while the tolerate her she isn’t well integrated in the flock and usually hangs by herself. I checked her for mites. Head and neck are clear. She had some dirt in her rear feathers but I “think” it’s just dirt and was easy to blow away. I tried to snap a pic. I just assumed the comb color was because she was young but this morning we found a pale pink egg that was much lighter than my RIR and BR have laid which got me wondering if my buff laid and then I questioned why her comb wasn’t redder. Thanks in advance!

The egg may have been from her, but 17wks is still pretty young for a BO, ime.

Her comb is a tad dry, but looks o.k. If you wish you can rub a little vaseline onto her comb and wattles, it won't hurt one bit.

I agree, looks like dirt in the feathers.
