Parakeet problem

You really might want to take him to a vet, sounds like a classic contagious respiratory illness. Getting two new birds and having one showing respiratory distress right off the bat isn’t good.
Most likely the rest of the pet store birds have it and your other bird will catch it too.. unfortunately, unlike us, small frail animals don’t usually get viruses that they can just get over. Sorry to sound so negative, vitamins and keeping him calm and out of drafts will help, but the lil guy probably needs antibiotics.

His first night in was a success! Over the night his breathing was fine, it just comes up every once in a while. I’m heading out today to get vitamins and anything else I can find for his problem. I might even get them a few toys to keep him company (: he is doing fine, and is still perching.

He’s not breathing heavy currently! He’s also getting more active (:!

He’s eating like crazy! I put him in front of the food container and he is loving it. The pet store clipped his wings and I think he can’t move around the cage well.. or he may be too weak to do so. I’m going to try and get him to drink water

Eating is a great sign, he probably will accept water as well:wee
He didn’t drink any water, so I put in some treats and he ate that, is it okay if he eats a lot of the treats? He prefers eating the treats instead of the actual bird food.

Treats are supposed to be limited but at least he's eating. See if you can make a soupy mix out of his feed next time he eats. He really needs to be hydrated
