Pasty Butt

Well just lost a Partridge Plymouth Rock to pasty butt. It also was the runt of the hatch. Kept cleaning it's vent but to no avail. It just kept getting weaker and weaker even though it was eating and drinking. was getting ready to try molasses and water but it was too late. The other 14 chicks are doing just fine and healthy at 11 days.

Personally, I would put a couple glugs of Apple Cider Vinegar in their water before Molasses, but....

Then again, sometimes the weak don't make it regardless.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad you joined. You did what you could. I doubt it was the pasty butt. Some chicks just don't have the will to survive.
