Here is why I would like to be considered for a few eggs:

I own/run Sanga Farm (www.sangaparties.com). We are a for-profit business, though the "profit" goes into taking care of our critters. With the money we have left over we offer programs for children who live in the city of Memphis, TN to expose them to the joy of animals and agriculture. Our business is owned by myself, my mother and sister. Everything on the property we have built ourselves or with the help of volunteers. If given eggs, they will be made available during the incubation/hatching/raising process to dozens of kids who would otherwise not benefit from this experience. A good majority of our "barn kids" are children who come from broken homes, homes victimized by the economy, and in some cases are children who suffer from a variety of disabilities.

We're always looking for opportunities to increase the educational farm experiences here at the farm, but the budget runs tight. No child, regardless of income, is turned away from one of our camps, riding lessons or volunteer opportunities.

We're a family outfit, not regulated or controlled by the government, and we conduct business from our barn/land.. not a fancy retail front. Though I have been blessed many times over, I would love the idea of teaching the kids at our barn not only about the incubation/hatching process.. but also the importance of paying it forward. All animals raised on our property are used for pets (Though we do eat the eggs!), the kids would riot if any of the animals here were eaten (Not that there is anything wrong with raising chickens for eating, just sharing that the eggs, if donated to us.. would ultimately be pets for life). Extra roosters I end up with are rehomed with other local farms. Thanks for the consideration!

Well, yeah, some Cuckoo Marans would be nice.
But give 'em to SangaFarms. She deserves 'em way more than I do.

I nominate my grandson Jacob. He is 7 years old and we home school him. We live in Arkansas. Right now he only has RIR's and want so badly to try different breeds. We have listed to test eggs on another thread and klf73 is sending him some and we also had some other offers..We are new to the group and I am overwhelmed at the kindness I have seen shown. This make for a great learning experience as well as good family projects. I have recently become disabled and have time on my hands so I think I will become another BYC addict. Thanks for considering him. God Bless.

I would be honored to hatch some of your eggs, but if I am worthy of your generousity....I don't know. We are just starting our flock again after moving to another state. DH is now disabled and I can only work partime, but we are getting along fine. I would like to build my flock so that next year I can do this very same thing and pay it forward. We worked for 23 years with 4-H as leaders and have always done things for others. Now we are in a position that we can't do that any longer, it makes you feel bad. We have responded to several of the free egg giveaways on here and are applauding all of you for your genorosity.

thank you
Debbie

This has not been an easy decision. I also am extrememly blessed inthe fact that I had an anonumous benefactor contact me and donate more eggs.
This is a blessing in the fact that I believe I will be able to help not 1 but 5 people in need!

So Here goes:

1) Giasmom - Your story about your dad touched my heart, I am blessed to have thebest parents and am extremely close tomy Dad, he has always supported my animal adventures.

2) Geraldine(nominated by Missouri Chick)- The story about someone making it through all the loss she has suffered is incredible. I hope in some small way some Fluffy Chicks will ease her pain and bring a smile to her face.

3) Mom2Munchkins (nominated) - Having been unemployed with no income and now being on a budget, I totally understand and wanting a small flock to provide for the family.

4) Rosecomb-Ryan - Any young person whi has been through as much is well deserving, I also understand the loss of your birds.

5) emvickery - Trying to keep it all together in tough times and keep a positive attitude, especially for your Grandson, you are very deserving.

I will begin packing up eggs today. Please PM me your addresses.
I will PM each person as they are shipped.

Thanks for all the wonderful stories! I hope , in some small way I have been able to make each of you feel better in a small way.

God Bless!
