We do have some Broad Breasted Turkeys that will be added to the coop. Never had an issue with them killing chickens. Had some kill guineas once by laying down on them during sleepy time.
The guineas must not have been old enough to roost up high??

I'd like guineas here but at a country intersections of paved roads they would be shot by neighbors for food or get hit by speeding pickups. I can't see keeping them in a coop and covered run. We would like them for a tick patrol.

Ended up eating the rest, sparing 5 Guinea pullets for the Cock. The Guinea Cock is down to 2 Guinea hens, cuz he spoils them to become obese.

We don't free range ours.

I use Chickens, Ducks, & Turkeys for the tick/insect control.

I have a pen of 7 roosters plus Legs to patrol now but they had rather beg for scratch and a bit of fresh bread daily.
That's quite a few boys.
Best not to give into their neediness for scratch.

I get first timers encouraged by feed, or scratch sprinkled on the ground, along with those who knows the free range routine as a way of training Newbies. They usually catch on in a day, or two.
