Hi!
I want to learn about peafowl, so maybe later on I can hatch some.
1. First of all, I am pretty sure they are, but are male pefowl aggressive?
2. Are males only the ones with the pretty coloring?
3. How big do they get?
4. What do they eat?
5. Can they fly? Would I have to clip their wings?
6. Are they good with other animals, like dogs, chickens, and goats?
And if there is anything else I should know, please tell me! I know nothing about them!
Thanks in advance!

I have a peacock. He's not aggressive at all, actually he's very cautious around people. Not very tame - but we got him when he was older.

Both males and females have gorgeous colors, but only males get trains and those beautiful eye feathers. There are many varieties. It takes a few years for them to get a full train.

They are pretty big, bigger than chickens or ducks. I'm not 100% sure on the exact numbers.

They fly extremely well. If you don't want them going everywhere, you need either a covered run or to clip their wings. Clipping might not be enough, though.

Attitude depends on the individual. Putting them with chickens is not a good idea - chickens can give peafowl diseases that are very serious, like blackhead.

Hatching might not be the best option. Those links Kiki gave you should cover pretty much everything in a lot more detail. ;)

Well, I'm no expert, but I can tell you what I know about mine. I have a male, about 4 yrs old - the males are the really colorful ones, although the females are pretty too. He isn't aggressive at all, with me or the chickens. But I guess that could vary from bird to bird. He is free range, and can leave my property if he desires, sometimes he takes a field trip for a few hrs, then returns. He really seems to like hanging out with the chickens, and he tolerates the rooster well. They don't challenge each other like I thought they might. They sure can fly, more than I thought they could. They are cool, mine even knows his name, if I don't see him and start calling his name, he will come running looking for a treat. He likes to get in the coop and eat their food, and he can eat alot. Otherwise he just eats bugs, bird seed, whatever fruits and veggies I put out for the chickens. The males shed their long tail every summer, mine just did 2 weeks ago, so you wind up with a whole bunch of beautiful feathers! Get some peacocks!! :thumbsup
