Peahen turkey cross... Peakey?!!

THEY CROSS WITH GUINEAS??? :barnie Now I know why my male guinea was always fighting with the peacock. He was trying to protect his girl. The peacock would follow them all over the pasture.
Now I'm wondering what will be hatching in the next two weeks.
Hey, a bunch of us will be watching and wondering with you! Keep us posted and protect those babies if they happen... :caf:pop

As many people as there are who keep turkeys and pea fowl together, if it was possible for them to cross breed, there would be lots of evidence of it happening.

Turkeys are unique and have not been shown to be able to cross with anything other than other turkeys.

Now, now, there is never going to be "lots of evidence" for something that we agree would be a rare and unlikely event, but that doesn't make it impossible or even mean it has never happened before. Since no one expects it to happen, they may not notice if it does, just think they got a really ugly mutant peacock or a strange, sickly looking turkey... Either way, good chance the poor thing would be culled, especially since it might not be healthy anyway... So,
I'm not saying it has or hasn't, just going to keep an open mind, so I will notice, if something a little different hatches out of an egg someday...

Having turkey and peafowl penned together for over 5years I've never seen a tom interested in a peahen or vice versa.
From my experience peacocks will try to mate with turkey hens 100% especially if she is alone or in a group of females. Peacocks often run away to try and live with wild turkeys around here. It's pretty hilarious. The boys in our run also display for the pullets relentlessly....
