For Easter my sister came over with her husband and 4 kids then my brother came over same with my grandma. My parents were there and uncle and cousin so it was a full house. Super great day the kids did an Easter egg hunt and then we all laid outside on blankets and it was fun

What about Covid? It doesn't look great where I live. So this would be out of the question.

What about traps? I have mice and rats, traps work well.

never cought any rat with a trap. one has been sitting in the chicken run for days and rats totally ignore it. but they did eat what I served last night. I put more for this night party, all of them are welcome, lol.

@chickengr ...try another trap? I have one of those made of wire, like a cage. You put bate in it, I use either a walnut or a chocolate bar with peanut. When the rat gets to the bate the door of the trap shuts. Then I serve the rat to the neighbors' cats...

Ah, you didn't ask... I was just guessing. I have the same, though I couldn't see yours well on the picture. I still don't know if mine are Loghman brown or ISA brown. How old are yours? Mine are 3-4 years old. When I feed them wheat only they are at 50% egg laying. When I switch to layers feed they are at around 85-90%.

AHH mine are 1-1 1/2 years old ...I feed them mostly layer feed or corn they free range and ye

I have exactly the same trap. but they never enter. I find dirt and small stones inside so I know they've been around.

@chickengr what do you put as a bate? There are those sticky cardboards as well. I have used them too and they work. But they are nasty as the rat suffers a lot. Does not die and you cannot give it to the cat.. I used it once and when I saw the torture I removed the rest.

My family doesn’t really care about it

My family, friends and me wait for a vaccine bc we don’t want to spread the disease, don't want overcrowded hospitals and ICs so people who need oxygen have more chances to survive. The 50+ among us are at higher risk and they don’t want to die or become invalid by Covid. But we all don’t want to neglect advices for distancing so other people could die or become invalid because of our neglect.
We were lucky only some the younger generation got infected by Covid. Even they got really sick and lost taste bc of this virus. I’m quit sure if we had all gathered with birthdays and festivities we would have had a few funerals by now.
