lol i have been sitting on mine and smacking my hubbies he swears we should help it but im terrified that his yoke hasnt absorbed

I can't imagine how my dh would be if we were sitting here with a bator in the house.

I think by noon I may be peeling a tiny bit of egg shell off just a tiny bit.Just too see if that spurs him on.

The more patient you can be, the better... you are right not wanting him out of the shell if he isn't fully absorbed. Its tough to wonder if they are struggling, but the longer you can hold out, the better he will be. UNLESS, of course, the membrane starts looking too dry. That's when you need to go in.

he would be telling you to get away from it, and quit pacing!

With that big of a hole, he has plenty of breathing room. Peeling more off right now just gives more open space for the membrane to dry out. As long as there is movement, its best to wait it out.

I easily admit though, that I'm as impatient as anyone. But it gets easier with every hatch.

It is awful when you wait too long, and they don't make it. Had 2 like that with my last hatch. But I just have to think that there was a reason they didn't make it. Its much worse to help one that is not ready, deformed, etc. because then the bigger decision of what to do with it really hurts.

I definitely agree with them hatching an having issues we had to my husband had to take care off because their legs were messed up it was so horrible i cried and regretted helping them hatch it was alot worse than losing them during hatch because i had time to get attached i guess :/ there is sure a fine line between being right to help them and just letting nature do its job like with the other little black baby she wasnt absorbed and if i had helped her she probably wont have made it anyways it would have been a drawn out painful process for it ahhh the joys of incubating eggs lol

Exactly. Everyone has a different comfort level and perspective. That's what makes it tough when trying to help new folks. I know you have helped others, so you know what I mean. I try to tell them what "I" would do, and mostly just hold their hand and be supportive of whatever makes them most comfortable.
