I have a question on golden and silver pencilled hamburg chicks. We have a bunch of each but they are all coming in with a similar pattern. I was thinking that since the males are basically black tailed gold/white that they would come in with more white/gold on the breast and we could tell them apart to cull off males. The main way to tell right now is comb size/color which isnt 100% accurate.
Also, how do they lay? We got ours from a breeder, not a hatchery, but what is the average number of eggs laid per hen?
