Pendulous crop?

Absolutely! I've found that hens are real Houdinis when it comes to shedding a garment they feel is beneath them. Crossing the straps is one of the best strategies to defeat this little act.

Ok, thanks! I just made another one with 15-inch straps. I'll have to fit her in the morning, though, as it's quite the ordeal to get to her after she's gone to roost and I'm exhausted from little sleep this past week. Lots to do in the morning between adding probiotics to all the water, syringing meds and spicy lemon juice, and having a crop bra fitting. Good thing I'll have an extra hour of morning daylight!

My hens like the probiotic in water, but I would make sure I have a waterer available with plain water. If you haven’t thought about that already. Wouldn’t want to cause additional problems cause someone wasn’t drinking.

Good point. We already experienced them refusing copper water (not all of them, but the one who needs it). She is drinking the ACV water just fine. No reason I can't have the ACV and priobiotic together in the water, right?

I thought that was the clotrimazole (sp?)
Just make sure the birds are drinking. That might be just a few too many variables in the water.

Yes, that, too. Throwing everything at her!

Yeast apparently is contagious through the drinking water, so I will have to keep a close watch on my flock. At least I FINALLY got the run finished with hardware cloth and no longer have a block of juncos in the run potentially spreading disease. However, this afternoon a flock of some other finch-sized birds as well as a flock of red-breasted birds (robins?) had descended upon the "lawn"!

So strange. There was a reply from Kathy about the ACV and calcium absorption and now it seems to be gone? Anyway, it's a good point and I'll keep it in mind. Only three of the nine are laying right now and I only planned to use the ACV for a week.
