Been MIA for a little while, and still catching up on posts. Between me being sick (almost like morning sickness, but I know it's not) and appointments I'm so far behind on everything, except the animal chores, it's not even funny.
Welcome to all the newbies and hi to everyone who's been here
I wanted to check about something real quick before I continue on my catch-up. I was thinking of making a side trip to a breeder in Canada, when I go to the family cabin next year, for Chanteclers. Would anyone else be interested in going in on this venture with me? Since this is a breed I want (since they're so cold hardy) and they are somewhat hard to find here in the U.S. I did the research and as long as they come in via a land port (ie the Thousand Islands) they only need a health cert from a Canadian vet, and there's no quarantine time required, same goes for hatching eggs.
Cost would be dependent on number of birds/eggs and how much the health cert costs, I haven't gotten that far with the research yet as I want to see if I'm going alone on this. I don't know if this breeder has other breeds I was only looking into the Chanteclers, but I can check if anyone else is interested in bringing in what would almost assuredly be new blood to any flock.
