We raised 5 chicks from when they hatched. They imprinted on my wife and me. They are very tame and eat from our hands. One of them, the biggest rooster of the bunch of three roosters and two hens has begun to show a strange behavior. When we enter the enclosure he runs toward us and goes into the full courting display, as if he wanted to mate with us. He does not do that for the benefit of the hens. Either he thinks we are chickens, or he thinks he's people. He does not attack us as some of the other roosters we had did. (They did not heed the first two warnings and ended up on the dinner table. ) Instead, he lets us caress his back and pick him up.
