Please do not take this wrong, but can anyone explain to me how these guys (beautiful birds) are "mottled"? I would think they would be a splash.
We are certainly not considered brilliant with our feather patterns of birds, but I have a roo like your banti-cochins and it is a "splash", the two pullets that I have, gray 'blue" in color with darker or lighter area on each feather and I was told they were "mottled". Is it the color of the pullets with their gray feathers?

They're cute! My lavender banty Cochin hasnt started laying yet and she's over 8 months old. Lately her comb has enlarged and gotten very red, so cant be too much longer.
