(PICS@POST #1)Starting a dozen eggs Sunday, Oct 2...any joiners?

I am new here, but I'd like to join in. I set my first eggs ever at 7pm Sunday. I have 15 shipped buff orpingtons. My first two days I was running 1° low. But thanks to my homemade latex wiggle inspired by member greathorse, I now have a handle on the temp. I also have 5 young buff O pullets that I bought a couple of weeks ago. They are loving their new home. I think I'm getting addicted to chickens and BYC.

It doesnt take long to be addicted!

Finally got some pictures

Here are the 5 eggs I put into (today) the incubator that I borrowed

My Broody girl I had to move into the house = setting on 1 servivor egg (that I didn't think was going to make it) from 9/27 and 5 other eggs put under her on 10/2 and 10/3 (will probably rotate those to the incubator as well when closer to the 27th egg to hatch)

The whole set up in a tote in corner of my room

21 days for the one egg will make a hatch date of 18th

All the others should be hatching between 23-25th

So.... Into the bator they went. I'm not even sure that they are fertile, my Roo is young and still trying to figure out where babies come from

I've got 15 days to go and am down from 10 eggs to six. Four of them got totally scrambled in the mail. One of my lighter Marans eggs I saw movement in, and the rest were too dark to tell. Fingers crossed they're alive and kicking in there!

And spowell, I totally understand! My hubby is currently shaking his head at me because I just informed him that he was getting me another Brinsea Mini as an early Christmas present because I ordered another dozen eggs for the end of the month and need just a touch more incubator space...
