I candled today really quick and I saw growth in just about all of the eggs!!!!!! I will not pull any till I candle again in about 5 days. Then I dont touch them for the rest of incubation. I just cant resist that first peek!
I couldn't resist...only day 4 for me, (actually not till 5 pm
) but I went ahead and candled. Is kinda hard telling with the Silkies, them being shipped, but seems all 8 have the beginnings of veining. 4 of the 6 EEs have good veining, the other 2 EEs were added on the 2nd day. The one BL mix egg shows nothing yet. I plugged in the turner around 5pm yesterday. Temp was at 101 this morning. I should have had it plugged in from the beginning and just kept the racks off so the heat from it's motor would have already been accounted for. Oh well, too late now. I'll check it again this afternoon. Humidity is at 39% this morning, so I will add a tad of water. Lockdown here will be 10/20 at 5pm. By Sunday, the 23rd I should be seeing some action! Between work and bow season just opening here, my posting may slow down, but I will make sure to check on everyone at least once daily. Happy hatching everyone and great luck to you all!!
What color are the Orp's? They are so adorable, I would love to have some one day.
I candled this morning and have 5 of my original 10 eggs showing good signs of development! I didn't think that was to shabby for a first-timer with shipped eggs.
Candled four eggs out of 41 randomly. Out of the ones I candled all had veining and were growing at day 5. Can't wait to see day 10 and see who is still growing.
