Thank you. I was just adniring how her feathers matched the grass when she waded right in there to pose.
Well, not really to pose, more like to get at the seeds at the top.

and an honest ? but lets not contaminate this thread too bad.
Would that camo work against a hawk or is it going to see clean thru the ruse?

I wouldn’t trust to it. I caught the exact right moment and angle in the picture.
I am guessing a hawk will see her moving about.
I live in daily fear of hawks and have been putting all sorts of junk and shrubs for them to hide under. The horizontal line in the picture is a bench I put there to give some shelter.

How's this side view? it's 14 weeks approx. It's a very curious chicken. First to see what snack I might be bringing.

I had surprise little chicks late in the year! First year Salmon Faverolles mamas (2 shared the nestbox) hatched 3 chicks and I hatched the fourth as the mothers had abandoned the rest of the eggs. One other hatched in the incubator, but it did not make it. The eggs had been left alone overnight before I noticed the hens were not sitting on them.
