I took this picture yesterday and thought I would share. Peeps is my 6 year old Japanese Bantam. We got her from Backyard Chickens a couple days old. A few days after we had her a board fell on her and temporarily crippled her. We had thoughts of putting her down so she would not suffer but decided otherwise. Now she has become the most friendly of our flock and the best mother with no lasting injury. We have slipped live chicks under her while she was just a few days broody and she took them no problem. We will surely miss her when the time comes but for now she is just a joy to watch.

Such pretty pictures of everyone's chickens. Glad I'm not the only one out stalking my chickens for a good picture:) here is one I got the other day. Thelma and Louise my 9 week old white orps. They are always side by side.

I love that photo! The color contrast, amazing! :love

Hen party!! Show me your butts and then we will go explore the lily of the valley. Ringleader is Pumpkin, a cochin with her cohorts Maya (auraucana), Spice and Elsbeth (spangled hamburgs)
Very pretty hens:) I get lots of butt shots too. There pouffy rumps walking around and chatting to one another. Love it :D

That is a rare once in a bluemoon picture. Good job! I just love a great picture. :) she sounds like a lovely hen.

I have ten chickens total but you can usually find these 4 together. I got them as chicks the same day about 10 weeks ago. The two white orps rarely separate from each other. I don't even know how to tell them apart. I just call them Thelma and Louise. :)
A week old.
