And hes tried to swipe me with um too! *of course i knocked him on his butt and made him back down...* but still..they can hurt you..

I don't think I could knock ours down on their butts. That's like pushing on a brick wall. The boy (he's cut) is going to the butcher soon. You know, just to look around.

Feral hogs are a serious problem in south Texas. Everybody hunts them, usually with dogs. Sometimes the sausage is kind of gamey. It's not my favorite meat.

Lots of ranchers here host annual pig hunts to try and thin the populations. It's a big deal and the guys all get together and camp and hunt.

ETA: My "here" is north central Texas. They aren't as big a problem as farther south.

1600 pounds? That's heavier than my steer, I think.

they were referring to hogzilla who had the right feed and all the right conditions could get up to six foot tall and 1600 pounds

The problem is the farm hogs are getting out and breeding with the wild hogs..(thats how you get the hogzillas) and they just keep breeding and breeding...

on another thread we were talking about the h1n1 virus hurting pork sales and I joked that I was going to order me some bulk bacon..... then I see this show on TV..... in michigan, there is no regulated hunt for them. You have to have a hunting license to harvest, all season, no limit.
