You did a great job removing the strings.. Looks like circulation is somewhat back ,, At least the pain should be much lessened. The tissue may regrow to more normal feet.
Are you going to keep him in your loft for his duration of life??

Thanks, he is limping a lot less now!
I don’t know, he’s pretty feral, but he was originally from someone’s loft, so he could be disadvantaged out there in the wild.

When I was cutting string off the pigeons’ feet today, I saw a solid white pigeon. It was obviously domestic, since it kept flying away from the flock, and didn’t approach when I fed them. When I caught it, I realized it was a baby- still squeaking! Someone must have released the poor thing yesterday at a 9/11 memorial.

Anyone know how to remove the snap on bands? I can’t get my fingernail into the part where it snaps together and I’m driving this poor pigeon crazy trying to take the snap ons off.

Pretty simple, but you may need assistance holding bird, since a 3rd hand comes handy.

If you have a set of wire-cutter pliers,

just cut where I drew in the scissor symbol.
The cutters will just force the locking snap apart,,, and off it is.
