Nice! I saw a shorter one of him bicycling w/his bird but not the training explained.I don't know if this had been posted before but it's incredible!
Bio said that there's no need to feed at night!Yes I will be very prepared to hatch pigeon eggs. I will practice waking up to my alarm in the middle of the night. I will also only hatch the eggs if adult modenas don't go broody.
I believe 99° - 100° is good. I didn't have a great thermometer, used a regular old fashioned people one because I'm not good at judging body temp on my wrist like people do with baby formula. If there is a mom in your household she can probably help you judge temp by feel. If it's too cold or too hot the chick may refuse it. In hand feeding videos I have never seen night feeding mentioned. Are you planning to use Kaytee to start with?Bio said that there's no need to feed at night!
@biophiliac what temp of food is best? And yes I will make sure the crop is empty.
I am still thinking about kaytee. I have game bird flight conditioner for my quail that I added water to and mashed it and it came out to a smooth paste. It could go up a syringe so I might just use that. What do you think? Its 18% protein.I believe 99° - 100° is good. You have some time before hatch, around mid Jan? Check the protein % in Katee and go by that. I'm going to try to find the Kaytee ingredients to see if it includes probiotics and other things. I remember @Hokum Coco said new hatchlings could be fed some egg yolk, so that's a possibility. I'd say the first week is the critical period. I have seen and read the malpositioned thread. I can't remember the brand and model of incubater, I'll tell you when I'm home. It's done good for a few years now.You have some time before hatch, around mid Jan? Check the protein % in Katee and go by that. I've never done hatching, lucky we have Hatchi Wan Kenobi and others on this thread! I bet any reliable incy is fine, humidity levels, idk.I have seen and read the malpositioned thread.
