Pigeon Talk

I want an egg-eating snake. Would give me a reason to keep more birds too - quail, to provide it with the eggs it'll need. Or perhaps a garter snake of some kind. I have a soft spot for them since I used to catch them all the time as a kid.

Garters are really neat! They can eat small fish too its super fun!

:goodpost:
Garters are my favorite snakes to keep because they're always active and moving around and when they're not they usually bask out in the open. I love ball pythons and my boa too but those snakes tend to spend more time hiding and inactive.

Go for it! Theyre super fun but hardly demand anything, there are Hundreds of color morphs of the ball just like the birds tho lots of backyard breeders so be sure to get it from a reputable source.

Also! Theyre called a "ball" python as their fav defense mechanism is to roll into a ball sheilding their head, such docile critters :love

so how do u get your pigeons to go back up after u let them out
Ok. So you want to keep them locked in for awhile. Different amounts depending on breed. You want to whistle every time you feed them so when you let them out, you whistle and they come back. You want to have a small door for them to enter, preferably a trap door (hard to explain, so Google it :) ) always let them out hungry. Do you have pigeons?

What’s a good pigeon that will stick around if I let it out during the day
A pet pigeon let to roam outdoors is hawk bait. And in many areas any free roaming pigeon will be killed eventually. Many people, if they don't keep them confined, let them out to fly for only a short time each day and then being them back in so they don't loiter outaide and get grabbed. My pigeon is a housepet and lives inside!

:ththe wonderful reptiles!! :love:love:love i picked the right day to come learn about pigeons! (Think im telln DD stick w her celadon quail) she wants an indoor pet bird  we told her she could if she did the work to fix up an old cage, all as an exercise in resposibility. I closely followed the cockatiel conversations you had recently and i really dont need a fourth (parrot=toddler) around

My pigeon is the sweetest pet bird I have had. I would recommend a female fancy pigeon as a family bird. They are so sweet and personable.

Somebody said I hadn’t posted updated pics of mine, so I just did a photo shoot. :D
