View attachment 1699291 only one has hatched so far. A day early. The other won't be long hopefully!

I don't think it had been hatched long. I went in to give them some sunflower hearts and Beau came off and there it was!
I think of Boomer as the founder/ matriarch of your loft... so the first heir is born to the Boomer dynasty! Yay!:clap

Is it possible to tube feed a pigeon like we do chickens?
Yes. I haven't done it though.

I hoped I'd get some from him last year. He has paired with a nice hen, I'm not sure it would be an ideal racing pair but the babies, I'm hoping, will be nice friendly birds. :fl

Got my APA packet in the mail. Think I might be able to get a band on the newest babies? They are like 8 or 9 days old.

Worth a try, the toe bones should still be soft or rubbery.

You still should be just about be able to do it. Put a little vaseline inside the ring and a little on its back toe. Be careful when you pull the back toe through as it will be tight and the claw will catch the ring.
Agree, I've seen a vid of an even older one banded. It takes a little time to work it over the 'knuckle' but once you can grab the back toe it is flexible enough to pull thru.
