Pigeon Talk

Its a roughly 2x3 door. I open it just enough to put the feed tray in but she dove off a high perch and flew right out the gap. I'm hoping she pulls through.
I'm going to try feeding her tomorrow. If she's not any better by then she's definitely not going to be able to eat by herself so here's to hoping she recovers a little.
Sorry to hear about your bird. I guess you can’t let them fly with those hawks around.

Fed her some peas tonight
She wouldn't sip any water but the peas were very wet so I think she's decently hydrated. Here's to hoping she keeps them down.
I took a video of her standing but couldn't upload it. Her head tilts to the left and she tends to lean in that direction and walk in circles. I'm not sure if its getting better...

I’m rooting for her! :fl

WV asked if I would post this here; it's me tubing a tiny bantam chick that I got from a feed store that was dying. Tubing isn't hard and can even be done on tiny chicks. This little one is now doing really great.

Thanks! That’s great.

Should I try that on my hen if she doesn't keep the peas down?

I would consider it if she can't keep food down in the next day or so. I'm thinking you'd want to get parrot formula to do it, maybe even the special pigeon formula by Roudybush, but I'm not sure how long it would take to get to you.

You may also want to order a feeding tube, just in case. I'd do maybe a 14 fr size, since I feel like 18 fr might be too big.

Next week my nephew is going to be helping me work on the lofts. I've got all the material and a bad back so I'm waiting on help.

Don't recommend breaking your back. Let alone three times in five years. I don't break horses anymore. Hah !

My new lens came in. Tamron 150-600 --- I'll be using it this weekend at the show. I really enjoy bird photography and have been chasing birds my whole life.

My old lens was just that. Old. Ten years of being thrown around and run through the elements. Sent it in for a cleaning but I'll probably retire it now.

Be glad y'all don't have these guys around. They hunt in teams.

Cute but deadly.
