Canaries sleep on their perches and wouldn't use one!

I used to think pigeons slept on perches

I've given them lots of options - shelves, nest baskets, various perches, swings and except when mothers are setting on eggs they sleep standing up.

And Olive has a round grapevine branch perch in her cage too, and she has napped standing on there a few times, and often sits there for a prolonged time to preen. She has three ledges, and this is not the highest perch, but she still uses it, so at least some pigeons do like to perch at least sometimes!

I got a bit more done on loft #3... Sorry about the shadows. *Hoping* I'll be done by monday. But that's not likely.

Since we were on the topic of if canaries can be tame earlier, check out this little guy. He's super tame, flies to his owner's hand from his cage, hangs out on his lap and shoulder, etc.

I'll just allow more breeding. I have 'most' of the breeds I want except sats

Huh...well maybe if you can paper train a pigeon, and train it to use a pink fuzzy bed....you can get a canary to fly to your hand...
