I read somewhere that the cocks mature slower than the hens so maybe he's just not ready yet?It sounds like eventually they'll get it right. Have they been feeding each other or otherwise courting?
wow! Beautiful! did you show with them?
I thought there was a standard in some country. Not yet that I've seen. Maybe he does just need a little longer to get there.
Thanks! Didn't show them because they can't really be shown - they're not an accepted breed. Anyone calling theirs show quality is making it up, because there's no accepted standard and therefore nothing to judge them against yet.

I'm thinking about safely integrating fledglings into a loft with several aggressive cocks, at least one of whom is claiming part of the floor as his own. I really think I should keep them separate until they're 5 -6 weeks old, probably caging them except when I can supervise.
@WVduckchick have you considered making a section for the youngsters, since you will have quite a few? Perhaps a 4x6 area with some perches? I wish I had the space you have to work with!![]()
At least you are prepared with nest box fronts.Yea I’m kinda wishing I hadn’t taken down the divider between the two areas, after Chance being attacked yesterday. Bugsy integrated so easily, I was hoping this would be smooth, but should have been better prepared.
I could build a divider, a quarter of the current space, for youngsters. That would be pretty easy. Thanks for the thought! New weekend project.
Yesterday, I noticed Brick was coming out on the “door” of the nest box they are in. Brewer is a little more timid. I was thinking I should close the door for a bit. They are eating on their own now, but could still be fed thru the bars, if the parents wanted to.
Cool pics! How do you use the wise cams without wifi?I added a roost branch right up in front of my camera. They like it, and it’s cool to watch them up so close, without them knowing I’m watching.
