Pigeon Talk

Yes, in looking through Facebook groups, I saw a friends name come up repeatedly. I asked her if she was looking for a pigeon. She said yes. She couldn’t get it for three weeks. It went home with her last Friday. It is doing well. She had pigeons years ago.
Glad pigeon found a home. Also glad you took care of him in the time you had him.:hugs
And also glad you are still here hanging with us here. :thumbsup
Having pigeons is not a requirement. I currently don't have any, but am working on it. There are still issues I have to solve and overcome. :old
Did finding this pigeon spark any interest in getting some pigeons  in the future?

More later when I get done cleaning cages but my dun pair have their first egg of the season!!!!

I sold Shadow and Java, the parlor rollers, today. I feel bad, and will miss them, but realized the cage they are in would be a great thing to start young ones in, instead of building something new. Plus I kept thinking they were cramped in there, but I had nowhere else to put them. And I’m better off concentrating on the Frills instead of multiple breeds anyway. I was surprised they sold so quickly, but glad these fellas wanted them.

Yes, parlors are a fun breed to have, but I would never want to focus just on them. I miss mine also, I sold a pair, and had the three others die... I'm pretty sure since they're on the ground all the time, they get sick. I hope you feel better about selling them soon :)

So earlier I was outside cleaning cages on all the critters (I have a menagerie of animals) and I kept hearing what sounded like a young hawk. My chickens were on alert and kept looking up.

I know I have a young coopers because he has taken a liking to my Cardinals and is LETHAL on my song birds.

When I finally saw him I couldn’t believe it. He was sitting 20 feet from my youngest cat, eyeballing her. Talking. She was chattering and looking into the bushes.

Y’all. They tag teamed some sparrows and both got one. It was the coolest thing.

It also makes me leery about flying birds. I don’t want to lose any when I start flying them but I know with him around it’s inevitable. This is his second year at my house and it’s been cool watching him grow up. I’ve lost some young chickens to him as well but now with the pigeons I’m going to have to be more cautious.

Cool, and good luck! I am not a fan of coopers... But, they are cool if they would JUST leave my birds alone!!! But I wouldn't recommend flying birds, at least not your zitterhalls. Because they're a show breed, right? What other breeds do you have? just the king pigeon?
