What a beautiful pair! The short beak babies are so cute.:love As long as they have enough beak to feed their babies, it's fine with me. Like the sats, they also have a more prominent forehead and eyes than most homers which contributes to their cuteness factor, imo.

Congrats! :celebrate
They should make some beautiful babies!

None for me yet, I checked before I left home this morning. I had marked my sheet as 5/1-5/2 due, so I'm not concerned yet. I did candle the eggs several days ago and they were both fine at that point. Its funny, Rocky doesn't even mind me sticking my hand under him now. :p

Hes used to you and trusts you now! :love

Anybody ever used these to feed your birds? I'm going to be out of state for four or five days next month and while I'm having someone look in on the birds once or twice I'd like to make it as easy as possible for them by using a feeder like this.
One issue I've run into was that these are very shallow and its easy for them to flick all the feed out. I think I'll try to get a square piece of plastic or some kind of drink carton and cut a small circular hole into it and then tape that over the tray at the bottom so that they can't be as picky.

I use those for 2 pens of my chickens, and have a similar plastic one in with the pigeons. They do seem to flick more feed out of it. I'll be gone for a few days next month too, so I will probably go with one of the homemade feeders the others suggested.

I have one of these also, but they pick out the good stuff and leave junk in the bottom. But I do think they spill less with it.

If I get time to make one before I go, I might make something similar to this, just wider to hold more.

Yep. They do have enough to feed their babys. I would never raise pigeons with too short of a beak to feed their young. I'll try to get pics soon.
