Pigeon Talk

Nice pics! The loft looks like it's coming on well. Once the foundations are down it won't take to long to finish the rest. Did you manage to get the coop back in one piece or did you dismantle it?

:love Such sweet little guys! So you tube feed? Since you know how - it's the most efficient way I think... How old is Bugsy's chick now?

Definitely easier to run it inside, tube feed it real quick and take it back outside. :D
Bugsy's baby hatched on the 12th so 4 days in the pic yesterday. :D

Today was our annual family reunion. This year I brought Olive and she was the life of the party. A few months ago when I started taking her out she was very shy of strangers touching her but now she is friendly with anybody as long as they are calm. The children all loved her and were very gentle stroking her. She even went on people's shoulders! We were there four hours and with a few breaks in her carrier to eat and drink she did great and enjoyed a sunny if cool summer day. The more she gets comfortable with new people the more I think she'd be a wonderful therapy animal. She thrives on attention and even a bunch if loud playful kids running about didn't stress her at all.

:love her color contrast is so striking! glad she was the hit of the party.

@wv, looking good! Good job tube feeding the wee little one, I just lost one yesterday to not noticing he wasn't being fed. It was a mix between a white and a racing homer. :( I feel really bad.

I have almost got the foundation laid for the new loft. Nothing fancy, but it will get the job done for sure!

Sorry you lost one. :hugs

No. The one from lincolns a gonner. But the pie has decided to return! It was on the trap earlier and my DW opened the trap and it went straight In! I'll let it be for now. If it stays it stays. If not...well. I'm still only the three down. Not a big loss for a big loft but for mine, quite alot!

Glad the pie returned!! :clap

:clap :love

So I don't even have it yet... We are getting it moved in 'one piece'... With a friend and his tow truck. Hopefully it makes it. But once the foundation is done, we should get it within a week. :)

New loft looks like its coming along nicely :)
Anyone ever have a wild dove try to insert itself into your flock? I believe this male dove's mate died around two weeks ago and since then he's been spending pretty much all day every day on the roof cooing at my birds, landing on their aviary and peeking inside, and following my single non-breeding bird when I let him out. I'll have to take another picture next time it lands on the loft

@biophiliac had a feral come to her loft. It moved in and has since had a round of squabs! She calls it loper!

It's like the NA grey squirrel over here. Hugely invasive. They carry a pox that the native red squirrel is susceptible. Almost to the point of extinction. That's globalisation for you.
I agree with you on the GLOBALISATION... It brought these to near Extinction. I think I'm one with the last few left.:idunno
