Pigeon Talk

The same here. Any bird born in the current year is a young bird. Any bird born in the previous year is old/normal/regular:confused::lol:
There is an awful lot of racing happening at the moment here. Not bad considering the sport is meant to be in decline! Saturday and Sunday liberations and training tosses in the week. There is a place a couple of miles away ftom here that is popular for people from the North to release from. I see them at least twice a week!
You are very lucky to be surrounded by fanciers. The sport is dying in the US. It seems to be pretty consistent across the pond...

Some clubs are down to single digits with how many fanciers there are. But 20 years ago some had 100d's of members. :(

Guess what I have???
My pigeon magnet must be switched on again! Not mine but another stray! This time from the Scottish Homing Union. I've just gone on the website and reported it. Everso friendly. It didn't trap. It just went in my garage with my broody hen and started pecking in the feed bowl. It just let me pick her straight up!

She's figured out how to find the buffet for a snack on the way home.:lau

No. I want it to return home. I've kept this one separate in the garage so it doesn't get used to this area. But if the owner contacts me and says he doesn't want it back.....! It's a 2015 female.
I have a picture somewhere of when I first did it! :(:sickView attachment 1845848 It's grown back sort of OK just a bit wonky!
I just love old hens! You can never have too many hens.:old
h I hope it pulls through!
I do too. I argue with myself about how much to intervene when they are very young. I prefer to let the parents do what they can and accept the result. I believe, on a flock level, the the more you intervene, the more you will have to intervene. It's not a hard and fast rule though.:)

I like how you have the inside!:)

Well she's enjoying her buffet! I don't think she's had her snout out the trough since I put her in! And I just checked on the others and ash has layed an egg. I don't know wether to remove it and wait for a second and put them under some one else or should I leave her be? There is more nest material in there but she does have a habit of dragging it out.

Up to you, but I would give them to another bird....

Here's #43 & #44. Both growing well. #43 has more white and some around the face, #44 has less white but still in the same places.

I'll be interested to hear what you decide and the result.:caf

Thanks! I do to. It's a split, white homers in one side, and racers on the other. Haven't gotten the one side done yet.

I'm going to add a small 3×4 section with no birds when you walk in, so no escapes! :yesss:
It seems to have a good amount of natural light?:)
