Pigeon Talk

I've removed it. It's alot smaller than the usual eggs, but then she is alot smaller then the rest! How's best to store it? I have it in an egg box pointy side down. Will that be OK for a couple of days?

If you plan on having her incubate the egg, return it to her as soon as the second egg is laid. If you plan on fostering, I would recommend doing so as soon as is possible.

:hugsSad, but nature selects the strong.:hmm

I suppose so. It seems so cruel though! Funny, I fed it a few times and the parents fed it a couple days between my feedings, and I was checking it every evening. I guess this situation is more regular that i imagined.
Although, for my situation, one works out just as well. Then I don’t get siblings hooking up. :p

Don't forget they may have sibs from a prev clutch.:p

We lost Trip/Rocky’s #2 baby. Found it dead yesterday. I kinda knew it wasn’t going to make it. But the other one is doing great.
Sorry to hear this:hugs I'm wondering why this seems to be happening. Is it a thing with short beaked pigeons that they struggle to feed two? Or is only one parent feeding? How are the others doing? Are they all looking good? Thriving? Im just thinking along health issues, trying to rule out a few things as it's happened a few times now. Or I could just be bad luck.
