Pigeon Talk

I think I have a basic understanding of their genetics but not as far as the less common factors like that.

~~~
I joined a few pigeon groups on Facebook a while ago and there are some other people with indoor birds. Most of them keep them very well. Then you see these types of people. With just disgusting sh*t covered cages in a dark room full of birds. And everyone is quick to defend them like this is not only really sad for the birds to live in but also how much dander and fecal particles must be floating in the air in these people's houses? That is how you get lung disease.
I get an outside loft isn't spotless but in the house you really need to keep up on it. And in a loft, the birds dont have to stand on it all day.
That's so sad. My 3outdoor lofts are cleaner than that!
This is the thread I mainly visit and joined the forum for. I have found a lovely community here and have enjoyed getting to know you all thus far!
Thanks!
I think pigeons are so misunderstood, it’s nice to have a group that all loves them, and supports each other’s love for them. I think everyone enjoys the “Stories of Olive” :)
And although some of your views may not align with mine, I still appreciate your perspectives and I’m glad you are here.
Stories of Olive sounds like a soap opera. Lets call it "El amor de una Paloma":lau
you can really see how the red is mainly on the tips of the feathers and its head and across it's back.
The second doesn't have nearly as much red and is mainly blue but with only a very slight tint of red and no bars.
Congrats on 2 healthy youngsters! Nice little red check:thumbsup
The shading you see on the blue is not from the red parent bc to the best of my limited knowledge, the ash red gene is not co-dominant. There are other, non colour(haha, did I get the Brit spelling?) genes that produce that effect, .. 'dirty' is one of them.
It will be interesting to see how much comes out when it's a bit more feathered. They both look totally different to any of the others. I just hope they'll be good fliers!
