Pigeon Talk

I know that Bio will sometimes "babysit" and take them inside during the night and return them in the morning and the parents don't mind. Not sure how yours would react. I'd say if your judgement says its too cold to bring it inside.
Or, is it possible to put one of the parents on the nest (bring a flashlight so they can see) and get them to settle in for the night with the baby?

Well, they're already in my garage so it probably won't get too cold, but it could get as low as 50 in there. I'm about to head down there and check them again. Hopefully one of them is on the nest.

Pyxis

When I had some squabs hatched during winter, (my loft is in the upper portion of garage) and ambient temperatures were about 35°F I placed a heat lamp under loft floor at point where nesting was. It did help warm the above nest, but I don't think it brought the temps up to 60°F. Pigeons did alright still.
If you are concerned about the lil guy getting too cool, try to place a heating pad under nest where he is at. You need one of the older models that does not turn off automatically after a duration of time. They all have a low-med-high setting, so I would start of with low .

Mom was sitting on the baby on my last check. The baby seems to be okay, so for now I won't intervene.

I think he'll be OK with the temps in your garage. He's getting to the point when parents don't sit on them constantly. Just bc he's a singleton w/o a buddy to snuggle with, I would keep an eye on him for a few more days til he's feathered a bit more.
It sounds like he's doing fine. Is he housed in a breeding cage with his parents? I don't suppose they are free flying in your garage? Lol

Lol, yes, they are in a breeding cage.

Day 8! Starting to feather. Looking like he's going to be mostly white, like dad.

I'm a little worried about baby Pidgy. His parents are still feeding him and his crop and nice and full, but as of today they are only intermittently sitting on him. He's still mostly naked and his feathers are only just starting to come in. Will this be okay or should I pull him?
Don't be. I think it will be just fine with it only getting to 50. But, my birds usually sit a few days longer than yours have so far... They are a finicky breed!

Cooper's hawk is getting very bold, he waited until I peeked my head into the inside hutch portion to change the waterer, and when my back was turned he slammed the wire and didn't stop until I opened the aviary door and went back out to chase him.

This one is young, the one that bothered me all winter and early spring was an adult. He'll have to learn to fear the bottle rockets like the last.
