I assume they did ok?
I saw a hawk on my way home the other day, not far from my house. So they are still hanging around here.![]()
I saw 2 hawks today but I admit I often think about letting then out for a good fly. Having the flight pen where they can flap around, stroll on the ground and roost up high in the sun when its out really helps! I would feel worse if they were confined in the loft, especially w18 birds in a 4x6 loft.I flew my rollers today. Even though i said i was in lock down. My goal is to fly my birds just enough to keep them used to the trap. Tommorow ill prob try the homers. If i dont see any hawks that is.

Took this pic of Loper tonight. He so funny when he stands up tall on his perch and puffs his chest out like he's warning me not to mess with him....I tickled his toes anyway!I like this little guy.

Not really, there's a 50% chance.Awww he’s adorable! Have you confirmed he’s a male?
Not really, there's a 50% chance.I wish he would turn out to be a hen but he has such a prominent forehead that looks male to me. He's making a friend so I might see some mating behavior soon.

Right now I'm focused on not breeding, at least until I would have a plan for re-homing the offspring. If I was allowing breeding I believe I would include him. He has a nice compact shape, is a very agile flyer and has demonstrated intelligence and self confidence. His smaller size would be a good balance for some of my larger birds. He might be a great sprinter if racedWill you allow it to breed? I wonder if he will go back to the feral flock in summer? I dought it but maybe.

Given how determined he was to join the loft, I too doubt that he will leave... but you never know - he does make his own decisions.![]()
