Pigeon Talk

And yet I had a friend who had a flying flock of Modenas. He showed too and did well with his birds. I believe; however, that the trend has been towards more of a meat type bird.
Really that would be amazing to see a bird like that fly.

It's all about selection. The birds that he had were finer built than that - that body type is almost like a King. When I came back from Denmark, I posted in many places asking if anyone had flying Nuns - none.

Amazing I thought it would take years to get a flock of modenas to be able to fly.

With birds like you pictured, it probably would. When I first got my Birmingham Rollers they had no homing instinct whatsoever. After several years of breeding from birds that returned from overflies I reached the point where few were lost due to overflies. Accomplishing anything with birds is generally not a one generation deal. It takes commitment, numbers, culling, and time.

Flight at about 2:00
Pretty colors. They have more of a chicken look.

Did you note the aggressiveness of a couple of those hens. Those girls will wing smack you hard enough to break a finger.

Right? Some brutes there.
