Don't think there is much breast meat there... I think it is the large inflated crop,

That's awesome! And I love that the kids enjoy being involved.. Its good for them to have the time with you!

Hey WV, are your birds parlor tumblers of the single, double, or roller variety? Single and double, as it sounds, tumble once or twice and then stop. Meanwhile parlor rollers do this. Just skip to 3:07 in the video since it won't let me link it to start there:

@sourland I forgot to tell you, I found a pile of poop in the parlor rollers cage today and thought something had gotten into the cage. It was huge! Then I realized it was from the broody. Good lord!

I guess with the other pair, she did it outside on the ground, so I never paid attention to it. This was on the wire bottom cage. 2 piles were frozen to the wire.

I was stunned for a brief moment when I first saw one too! I kept forgetting to get a photo for my poopology album until the opportunity was lost for 2018.

I ordered only 10 bands for 2019 bc I'm not really planning to breed. The loft is at capacity imo. So of course these bands are the prettiest I have so far and I want some birds wearing them in my flock!

Never heard of the single/double thing, but mine will roll a pretty good distance. I still haven’t gotten video yet, but I’ve rolled them a few times in the grass. In the confined pen, they just flip a time or two.

Mine is the walking variety.
