And the chicken! She does look nice. The turkeys we used to have were just the white ones I'm not sure of breed. I think the turkey equivalent to the cx. Surprisingly they weren't very friendly!photo bombed by me??
They get a bit bigger than that, and much heavier! One of my "fondest" memories of her is grabbing her down from a chest-high roosting spot she chose every evening at dark. I'd have to get her down and put her inside with the chickens. One night I failed to secure one wing and she popped me in the side of the face so hard! She was very strong!![]()
There is quite a few on here that have pet turkeys and they do seem to be very friendly, mostly!

The aviary 'floor' is a mess however with the poop melting into an unsanitary slurry on top of the snow pack.
As a temporary measure I put a tarp and a sheet of cardboard to cover it. Once the snow melts the gravel works pretty well to drain away poop, at least so far.
