They get a bit bigger than that, and much heavier! One of my "fondest" memories of her is grabbing her down from a chest-high roosting spot she chose every evening at dark. I'd have to get her down and put her inside with the chickens. One night I failed to secure one wing and she popped me in the side of the face so hard! She was very strong!

And the chicken! She does look nice. The turkeys we used to have were just the white ones I'm not sure of breed. I think the turkey equivalent to the cx. Surprisingly they weren't very friendly!
There is quite a few on here that have pet turkeys and they do seem to be very friendly, mostly!

She kept the peas I gave her this morning down thankfully.

I had her out on the floor to see how her walking around was and she decided to fly which was a bit frightening. She spun in a big circle and I was able to catch her before she smacked into anything. I'm rooting for her with this neck injury because everything else seems to work fine.
For all I know, the reason she's been throwing up is that she's been making herself sick spinning around. Can pigeons get dizzy?

So it's 59°F and raining with lots of the birds out in the aviary trying to catch a shower. The aviary 'floor' is a mess however with the poop melting into an unsanitary slurry on top of the snow pack. As a temporary measure I put a tarp and a sheet of cardboard to cover it. Once the snow melts the gravel works pretty well to drain away poop, at least so far.

I'm a bit further north than London! It has been 'not cold' but still a bit chilly! It would be better if we weren't being battered by storm gareth! High winds and rain . My wheely bin blew over!

I can't believe you guys still have snow!

Our snow already ALL melted.

Bio is considerably north of me, and they were rationed more snow there this year.
Weather/person did mention us getting some this weekend. They lie 50% of the time, and still collect paychecks.
We were supposed to get some last weekend, but the SUN turned up the thermostat,,,,, and resulted in rain.
