Pigeon Talk

Well, I went out early this morning, and I found all of its feathers :( I think an owl picked it off last night. It was roosting in a tree above the loft, so it wanted back in. Now I'm down to 2 pairs. That was my prettiest bird :(

Oh no! I’m so sorry. :hugs :(

Oh no! I'm really sorry too. I know how it feels to see the pile of feathers.:hit

I do that tool I also have employed the boiled eggs as a form of birth control in my pigeon loft. Many times you pigeons will set another pair of eggs again with in days if this measure is not taken. You need only to supply one egg for this exercise.
So do you take away 2 eggs and put the one boiled eggs in their place?:)

:clap
I have one of those little cookers too and love it! I think fresher eggs with small air cells tend to crack more. A week or so old, the air cell gets big enough to take the expansion.
I like the soft-boil if I’m eating them. :p
Dippy eggs and toast for breakfast is the breakfast of champions!

Sorry to hear this. Was it paired?

Just fed Brick and Brewer. And they are finally starting to pick at the food bowl on their own. I’m still doing the wet mixture from the bottle, with some grit and seeds mixed in too, in the mornings.
They are up to 170-180 grams. Brick stays about 10 grams heavier than Brewer. Might take them outside today for a while. I’d like to see how parents Trip and Rocky respond to them now.

Right, I've removed 6 eggs over the past few days so I decided rather than binning them I'd boil them up and feed them to the chickens! I have a cool little gadget for boiling eggs so I put 6 in it.

Unfortunately 3 popped and the egg cooker had egg all over inside. It smelt real bad! There is no way I'm even thinking of trying one! The eggs don't seem to want to peel so I just crushed them up with the shells. View attachment 1712462
The egg whites seem very clear and are like a jelly consistency. View attachment 1712463The chickens loved it!
Neat! I like the egg cooker..:D
And the chickens look like they're enjoying the eggs! :clap
