Does that mean all your adults are paired up? equal numbers of m and f?
You take such super good care of your birds! It's official. My pigeons hate me! They have all had a really nice day out and about, had a bath, some really nice dinner then a friend of mine came over and they all got PMV vaccinations! They are are looking a little upset in the loft now but it's necessary. It didn't take long but I would hate having to try to do a loft with 200 or more birds in it!
I think it does. I have two males that didn't pair with any hens and I have seen them feeding each other and trying to procreate on the roof. So long as they're together they aren't hassling the girls! And I won't need any plastic eggs!I know we have discussed two females forming a pair, sitting together, etc. But does it happen with 2 males too?
Skye, my blueette that I know for sure is male, has been woo’ing my young Bugsy. I’ve been getting the female vibe from Bugsy for a while, but today I saw Skye trying to woo her into a nest, then I saw him bowing to her and she was preening his head. I haven’t seen actual mating, but is this a good indication that she is female, or does it happen with 2 males also?
Bugsy is only about 5 months old.
Thanks. I'd hate to lose any due to anything preventable. After my PMV scare last year I'm super cautious. They do like bath time too...with bath salts of course! You take such super good care of your birds!![]()
I can't believe it's been 25 days already! Have they been wing stretching yet?Offspring of Loper, my feral immigrant and #735 a native born member of the loft....

25 days old.![]()
Only when I grab them from the nest box. haha BTW I think I'm going to use Dragon Loft for my loft name, just for fun. I still think Boomerang Loft is the perfect loft name but leaving that one for you.I can't believe it's been 25 days already! Have they been wing stretching yet?
Bless them! I hadn't really thought of a loft name. I have a loft number from the RPRA. Not sure what I'd call it. Boomerang Loft could be tempting fate! Maybe something like Welbeck loft as that's where I am!Only when I grab them from the nest box. haha BTW I think I'm going to use Dragon Loft for my loft name, just for fun. I still think Boomerang Loft is the perfect loft name but leaving that one for you.![]()
