Pigeon Talk

Don't like dog racing either.
I respect your opinion. It is not a perfect world. However if the cruelest thing that happened in this world were the exploitation of animals that were bred to excel on a certain trait I am sure the world would be a better place.
Some people complain when they view a rainbow.
My father (RIP) and I (both animal lovers) watched this race together and
we wept.
Secretariat was ridden by a fellow Canadian and New Brunswicker Ron Turcotte

I don't like battery farming and the necessary/unnecessary culling of cockerals from breeders doesn't sit well with me either. All my animals are here to stay. The only way that we as humans can make any difference is as individuals know what is morally right and try to live by that.

I did a release of my three 'single' males today. From the same place about 3-4 miles away. It was a bit confusing for them and a bit kerfuffly leaving the basket. They flew round for about 5 minutes then split in the wrong direction!
Well they all made it back in about 26 minutes! Not a great time but I'm happy they came back reasonably quick, it took boomer over 11 hours to fly 6 miles!
And look who has returned!

I haven't managed to contact the owner yet.

So cool! Funny the last one climbed out the top door. :D

Did the lost one return with your 3 or before them? Hopefully the owner will just come and get it.

I checked on my 2 new babies and they both seem to be growing equally. I was concerned because one was looking smaller, but I think it’s caught up. Eclipse and Egan, I think I have settled on, as names.

Glad they made it back! Looks like you might have a new pigeon ;)

It appeared about half an hour after mine returned. I have spoke to the owner and he's coming to pick it up tomorrow evening. He is from Lincoln which is about 30 min away. I just wonder if it will return to me when he next releases it!

That's good news. I like the names!
