so I may be getting a young white homer that is scalped. it's from family in Illinois. I'm pretty excited! It would be fun to nurse it back to health.

Unfortunately my pair seems to be done breeding for a while, I gave them a second nest bowl and more material when their young were about two weeks old and they are now over a month old and independent and still no more breeding. The weather has been good and I haven't seen any hawks though so I've been letting the old birds out daily but they've mostly just been sitting on my roof. I'm at a loss of what to do about it at this point because if they're shooed off they will simply go and sit in the trees and at least on the roof they should be able to spot a hawk coming after them a bit further off. The last cock that I lost was particularly bad with this and I believe it was him who "trained" the others to sit around like that.

You did mention that there was a possibility of getting some more pigeons from a source of your original pigeons. Maybe try to get a mated pair, and introduce into loft once your squabs are a lil older. (like 10 weeks)

a lot of pairs seem to wait a few weeks longer after raising squabs. I wouldn't give up on them quite yet.

Unfortunately my pair still no more breeding.

Egg laying takes a large toll on the condition of the hen which results in varying times for the second clutch to appear.
The feeding of "Chicken Egg Laying Pellets" helps in this regard.

I have a little baby bird in my garden. I first saw it yesterday morning. It is far to small to have fledged. There was its parents and another small bird with it which I thought may have been its sibling. It was bigger and can fly.

It spent the night under my old quail run and it's been in my strawberry patch and shrubs! I have seen it being fed. It does the little wing flaps like a pigeon squab! I hope it will be OK another day and I think it will be flying properly.
