I've got 2white homer babys now!

I am happy for you Backyard buddy.

I personally am now at a count of 40 birds including squabs.
Now if all the eggs hatch that my pairs are currently sitting on I will have attain my flock of 50 homers with of course a scattering of birds that are not solid white. That is barring any losses. It has been a milestone I have came close to many times and possibly even achieved briefly. Sadly never was able to sustain for any noticeable length of time.
I know one should never count their pigeons before they hatch.

I have one more pair on eggs, due next week, and the first one that was actually hatched here (Bugsy) laid another egg yesterday. Her first pair weren’t fertile, so hopefully this time goes better.

What type of perches are you gonna do?

And are you going to do your nesting boxes with a door so you can make them lock in?

Ok yall! I just found a large spider in my pigeon coop. In the nesting box with day old white homer babies! I was concerned he was gonna try to get one while the parents were off. Although that seemed far fetched. Either way, I opted on the safe side and shot it with an bb gun. It was bigger than a half dollar with legs, and when shot, just a bit bigger than a quarter. It did kinda explode though...

I know this. But to try to catch, and remove a spider in a 6 by 8 loft I ran the risk of losing it. And I don't want a large spider running around my loft with day old squabs smaller than the spider.
