Pigeon Talk

If the rest of the year is anything like the start, I probably better order 20 to begin with, instead of 10. I ordered 10 to start last year, then ordered 10 more, but only used 8 total. Well, 10, counting the 2 New Year’s Eve babies. :D
You do seem to be doing well so far! Have you any plans on what you want to do with them? Are you going to sell some or just have a massive flock :D!

I know this is the pigeon thread....but I'd like to see a few pics of Ko! Hint, hint....

And what has Olive been up too? I know she helped decorate for Christmas. And had a nice outing by the lake. Did she ring in the new year? Is she helping to put away the decorations? I get a kick out of that little bird...

We put the decorations away this morning.

I have 2 racers on eggs! and a pure white homer pair getting close. Hopefully they hatch and raise them I also had a little port hatch. It is tiny! Hatched 3 days ago. It isn't show quality, because of his top beak section and lower beak section are misaligned. I will get a pic soon.

I got my NPA bands today :woot
There is 10. I wonder how long it will take to use them!

nice! The U.S. Ones are prettier! ;) they were that color last year, but for 2020 they are red.

Do archangel use the 8mm. Like racers?

I gotta get some 2020 bands. Never did use any of the 2019 bands I bought :(
same here. Here is to a better breeding season!

The bands are a bit boring! I think grey should not be a colour used for them, only colourful! They are 8mm, the same as the racers.
Nice one with the port. Hopefully it will be OK. I remember you having a few problems last year.
I'm not letting mine sit just yet. I have just removed 2 eggs from the fantails and 2 from the racers. The forecast isn't good over here. They're forecasting a cold snap. Most likely it will just be cold and wet!

Oa
The ports are a bit bit of miss when it comes to breeding. so I let them sit whenever they want to!

The local fanciers around here begin breeding about now, they say people are always worried about cold, but it isn't a big deal. They say diseases are more common in the summer, so they needed in the winter. Though, we don't experience the type of weather @Qwerty3159 and @biophiliac experience. It is low 60a now.

The scissor beak isn't affecting the growth of the port at all. I'm not to worried about it. As it gets older, I will file it down if needed. He does have the advantage of food with being the only one in the nest, if he had to compete, I don't know if he would make it. Good beak or not, he will have a good home at my lofts!
Nice birds and nice loft BP :)
Best of luck with your breeding
thanks. How are your birds? How many do you plan on breeding this year?
