That blue jay is a member of a small group that lives around here that comes to the feeder several times a day and is always in the surrounding area which is nice.
I have Blue Jays at my bird feeder daily. There was a time (few years back) when the West Nile Virus was rampant, and wiped out many of the blue jays and crows. They seem to have recovered in last 2 years at least in my area.
I just attached a small cup in the box with some seeds for him to pick at. He should be interested in them but it might take a little bit for him to master picking them up.
Thought it would be a good idea to mention,,,,,, have a water source/supply/dish, that junior can get to himself.
